About the Position

TechSoup is seeking a Communications Manager to join our Global Marketing Team to run day-to-day communications, coordinate events, and supervise the maintenance and creation of collateral. This position reports to the Director of Communications and Community Engagement.

The ideal candidate can seamlessly navigate a matrixed environment and be able to collaborate with internal and external resources, as well as produce high quality communications deliverables. Candidates must have stellar writing skills, be organized and self-motivated, and be dedicated to making a difference in the world. They will manage all aspects of comms including PR, events, collaborating with various departments across the organization and around the world, and maintaining the documentation that the various TechSoup departments need to support their activities and outreach.

This position requires the ability to work across a variety of stakeholders and manage projects from conception to content development to execution and publication. For a candidate with 4-6 years experience in communications and a track record for shepherding successful communications campaigns, to the finish line this is an exciting, fun and rewarding position that offer growth potential.

Duties and Responsibilities

Champion the TechSoup brand by maintaining and developing effective communications for print and digital properties, and coordinate in-person events. Support the Communications and Community team with all projects.

  • Events
    • Manage logistics, collateral, and sponsorships for trade shows and conferences.

    • Support tracking and analytics for events (attendee follow-up and ROI)

    • Maintain events calendar

    • Keep abreast of sector events and opportunities (speaker/sponsorship) and

      make recommendations for future events

    • Coordinate all aspects of events

  • Collateral and comms organizational support

    • Create and project manage the creation of new collateral

    • Maintain update and all “About Us” materials (PPTs, print materials, web

      mentions)

    • Coordinate with the Design team on establishing the organization of documents

      and image library

    • Collect and maintain multiple organization wide quarterly metrics and statistics

  • PR Support

    • Presentation and pitch support

    • Assist with organization information media requests

    • Maintain archive and web page featuring press and media mentions

    • Ensure that TechSoup’s public presence on external touch points is outstanding

      and up to date

    • Develop an internal speakers bureau of experts who can be called upon for

      media opportunities

  • Project Management

    • Develop communications and event-related creative briefs to define deliverables,

      timing, budget, and resources

    • Assist in creation and management of projects in Wrike for communications as

      well as other marketing projects as needed

    • Managing intake support triage

    • Lead communications projects such as TechSoup’s Year in Review

    • Opportunity to contribute to the TechSoup blog and other content channels, such as social media or webinars.

Qualifications:

  • ●  4-6+ years of experience in marketing communications

  • ●  Superior written and verbal communication skills

  • ●  Experience developing presentations

  • ●  A positive can-do spirit and passion for the nonprofit sector

  • ●  Self-motivation and an eye for detail with enthusiasm for juggling multiple tasks and working with a great deal of autonomy in a fast-paced environment

  • ●  Experience with nonprofit environments preferable, and nonprofit tech a bonus

  • ●  Excellent ​proficiency in: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Drive/ Slides

  • ●  Knowledge of topics in the sector specifically nonprofit capacity-building, technology

    philanthropy/CSR and digital inclusion a big plus

  • ●  Proficiency in Hubspot or any other enterprise email system, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator

    and basic design skills a plus
