About Caravan Studios
Caravan Studios is a division of TechSoup, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in San Francisco, CA. We believe that communities should be deeply involved in developing tools to solve the problems they face. We build apps for social good and we build them along with the community who needs them.
TechSoup’s mission is to build a dynamic bridge that enables civil society organizations and social change agents around the world to gain effective access to the resources they need to design and implement solutions for a more equitable planet. We operate as a social enterprise consisting of 70 global partner organizations working together to improve lives through the use of technology.
About Safe Shelter Collaborative
The Safe Shelter Collaborative (SSC) increases the number of available beds and streamlines the process for finding them. SSC creates a responsive, community-based network of support that deploys existing shelter resources and unlocks new funding streams. Member agencies have access to tools and resources that streamline services, provide funding, and expand the capacity of participating agencies to serve survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence.
This internship is geared for individuals who are interested in developing and expanding their knowledge in program evaluation and planning. The intern’s work will focus on researching the effectiveness of the current SSC program, as well as evaluating where Caravan Studios tools and resources can be best utilized. The process will include analyzing and researching community needs and existing services in the area of domestic violence and human trafficking.
The evaluation will guide our work in the use and distribution of our apps, programs and services. It will also inform the development of new and/or existing programs and service that are in demand among community members.
All interns should be enrolled in a college class or program where the work described above matches the student’s academic pursuit or area of study. Student should have an overall grade point average of 3.0 (B or better); and ideally will be receiving academic credit for the internship.
