Position

The Senior People and Culture Generalist will perform tasks in support of the People and Culture team strategies and daily operations and will report directly to the Senior Director of People and Culture.  The primary responsibilities for this role will be in the area of compensation while supporting other P&C operational areas.  The scope will be to predominantly support US-based staff and contractors, with occasional support to non-US staff and contractors.       

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Compensation

Performs Compensation operation functions including setting up foundational compensation tables such as job codes, job classifications and pay ranges.

  • Works with Sr. Director of People & Culture to research and develop a compensation transparency strategy and communication plan.
  • Prepares and maintains job descriptions for each position in the organization; ensures descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents. Ensures job descriptions are uploaded to compensation platform provider database.
  • Interviews managers to gather and document job, organizational, and occupational information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job.
  • Assesses jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range.
  • Benchmarks jobs against data provided by compensation platform provider and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position within the US, Poland and the UK.
  • Provides market data and makes compensation recommendations to Recruiting team in support of recruitment for new roles, new states, and new countries. Provides market data and makes compensation recommendations for promotions.
  • Reviews compensation actions across the organization to ensure equity in support of Diversity and Inclusion efforts.
  • Counsels managers relative to compensation issues.
  • Manages relationship with compensation platform provider and compensation/market survey providers as needed.
  • Works to identify and prevent potential compensation equity issues
  • Assists in processing compensation transactions as needed.

Onboarding:

  • Works with P&C team members to ensure that that new hires have an excellent onboarding experience.

Reporting

  • Produce monthly P&C metrics with dashboards to highlight trends and share insights with leadership
  • Create ad hoc and standard reports as needed within established deadlines.

Benefits

Leaves of Absence

  • Stays abreast of laws across states in US where TS has staff and identifying the impact to TS’s policies and practices. 
  • Alongside other P&C team members provides advice and counsel to managers and staff as applicable.  Works with managers on cases that may need accommodations.  When applicable, works with staff to manage their leave in accordance with TS policies and practices

Employee relations

  • Stays current on labor laws       
  • Manages employee relations cases as assigned from interviewing required staff, engaging legal as needed, documenting cases to closing out cases with appropriate parties and per SOPs.  Provides coaching and issue resolution steps to managers and employees.  Documents all employee relations discussions in P&C ER folder in a timely manner for easy access for all.
  • Conducts and documents investigations as needed in partnership with P&C leader
  • Partners with P&C leader on Separation Agreements as needed

Training

  • Collaborates with Enterprise Trainer to create training presentations and materials to deliver training to managers on areas of responsibility, and other topics as needed. 
  • Creates training presentations and materials to deliver training to employees as needed in relation to P&C project

Other Operational responsibilities:

  • Develops & documents SoPs for areas of responsibility on ongoing basis. 
  • Supports other P&C team members to manage contractor process - from staying current on corresponding laws, including working with managers on contract generation and timeline tracking, to providing advice & counsel on contract language, and posting guidelines and request forms at Manager Center.
  • Provides content and supports maintenance of the Employee Handbook - contributes to what needs to be updated and when based on laws/regulations and with P& C team ensures handbook is updated on annual basis. 
  • Global consistency – work with the P&C team from the Polish and UK offices to strategize and align enterprise-wide P&C programs and activities.

 

Qualifications

  • Excellent knowledge of human resource laws, regulations, and best practices
  • Excellent knowledge of compensation methodology, procedures and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; understand the value of data and how to leverage it to tell a story.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to manage projects, improve processes. and lead projects to completion.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and show discretion around employee data and executive or managerial decisions
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner and produce presentations to educate others.
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks, research, prioritize and organize work effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and with others to resolve problems and handle requests.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365, Google Suite, or related software.
  • Proficient with ADP and able to learn NetSuite.

 

Education

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of five years of HR Operations experience with three years emphasis in compensation. 
  • PHR certification preferred
