Position

TechSoup seeks a Specialist, Data Reporting and Insights who will be a key contributor to a team charged with providing information and analytical insights to TechSoup executives, managers, staff, and other stakeholders in order to support data-driven decision making and to improve operational efficiency and organizational impact. The Specialist will focus on the development of dashboards and visualizations and will test hypotheses and develop recommendations for action. The right candidate will be encouraged to learn and discover his or her own strengths and areas of interest, in order to develop and grow in whichever direction is of interest.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop dashboards and visualization components for use by business teams.
• Develop data-based insights, test hypotheses, develop recommendations for action
• Work with data science tools and languages, including Power BI, SQL, Python, text analysis tools, and statistical analysis tools.
• Use our standard development environment tools, e.g., for project management, source code control, release management, documentation, etc.
• Understand the needs of management and staff so that the dashboards and visualization components we develop will be well suited to improving their decision making and operations.
• Collaborate with Business Insights team members and with other departments
• Extract data for summarization and presentation and clean, standardize, and transform raw data, as needed
• Provide documentation and training to dashboard and Power BI users
• Perform analyses to develop and implement advanced metrics.
• Develop models that predict client behavior based on client characteristics.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a BS degree in Computer Science or Data Analystics or equivalent experience in data analytics. Education and work experience must demonstrate sufficient relevant skills and knowledge as well as excellent work habits and personal attributes. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-pace environment, who would describe themselves as a self-starter.
