Position

We are looking for an experienced program leader, change agent, and global citizen to join the Global Network leadership team, which includes team members based in San Francisco, Africa, Europe, and Asia.  Reporting to the Executive Vice President (EVP), the TechSoup Global Network (TSGN) Senior Director will play a pivotal role in developing next generation capabilities and compounding social impact returns across the partner network. The person in this role will be an innovator and implementer who will help guide, engage, and empower the Network as we transition from a product orientation to a solutions orientation in our capacity-building programs.  This role requires excellent management, communication and relationship-building skills. 

The successful candidate will have demonstrated strong business acumen in a social enterprise; a track record of results working in the nonprofit or social impact sector; passion and creativity in previous work managing international relationships with mission-critical partners; and will have broad familiarity with technology platforms, tools and user-centric design to engage with partners and colleagues on our global platforms and sites.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with the EVP in developing and communicating annual goals for the Global Network that advance enterprise “Objectives and Key Results” (OKRs); monitor and track progress at the global, regional and partner level.
  • Manage relationships with global partners, resolve escalated issues and oversee successful delivery of key programs; key issues and projects must be cared for with a “hands on” leadership style.
  • Lead a San Francisco-based team of 2-3 people; be able to work flexible hours in order to meet the needs of and effectively work with remote team members, as well as with partner organizations based outside of the US.
  • Partner with internal business teams to launch and grow new programs across the Network including the development of templates and curation of materials to ensure that goals of programs are well understood and can be successfully marketed and communicated around the globe. Develop new and innovative approaches that are effective and efficient in managing the growth  of new business programs in process.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive communications strategy spanning Network partners and internal teams: facilitate the acceleration of program growth especially in new revenue generating areas; enhance familiarity with partners and initiatives in and across regions; and grow and foster a sense of global community.
  • Collaborate with network partners and internal development team to develop funding concepts build on regional needs, opportunities and strengths, including those that support the replication of projects across the Network.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years’ experience working in international and cross-cultural environments with responsibility for partnership development.
  • Deep familiarity with technology and barriers to its adoption and use, preferably within the social services and/or nonprofit sector.
  • Strong business acumen preferably applied within a social enterprise.
  • Excellent communicator used to working with remote colleagues and stakeholders, including with non-native English speakers.
  • Ability to be flexible in working hours given the international nature of this position.
  • Effective leadership and follow-up skills including tracking, delegation, and management.
  • Preferred: Bi-lingual and/or multi-lingual communicator
  • Required: Able to travel internationally
