Training Manager, TechSoup Europe

The Training Manager role overview

We are looking for someone who will be able to plan and manage a series of trainings in media literacy for approximately 1500 people in 14 countries across Central and Eastern Europe. The role will involve shaping and leading a best-in-class network of approximately 50 local trainers. In addition, the TM will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of training curricula (created by subject matter experts), and its localization (to done by regional partners in cooperation with local trainers), setting and sharing best educational practices, overseeing the delivery of local trainings for NGOs and activists which are led by TechSoup’s regional partners.

Successful Training Manager will need to be a strong and energetic facilitator, with a high level of credibility in training curriculum development, trainings and trainers’ evaluation, with a deep understanding of the adult learning process, as well as some relevant knowledge in the NGO capacity building or social change sector. In addition, the TM must have strong project management and team management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet multiple deadlines in a highly complex environment. This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in the growth of the TechSoup Europe educational program for NGOs, its partners, and essentially the entire TechSoup global network.

The position will be based out of TechSoup Europe headquarters in Warsaw, Poland. You will be working out of creative and dynamic office in a highly matrixed environment. Be ready to travel (primarily within Central and Eastern Europe). Ability to work internationally - across different cultures, languages and in spite of the distance is an absolute must.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Lead on developing a full spectrum of the trainings and education program for media literacy.
  • Coordinate with other program staff on education and training initiatives.
  • Ensuring excellent program delivery through grant project management experience.
  • Coordinating the entire project lifecycle, including development of scope, gathering of specifications, tracking, reporting, and implementation.
  • Creating and managing project working plans, working budgets, and business plans.
  • Establishing and executing actionable usage metrics, evaluation plans for educational and training program, and key performance indicators.
  • Setting and implementing training course management procedures, including processes for assessing quality of curricula used in the media literacy program.
  • Develop our pool of trainers portfolio, including evaluation of current resources, implementing ratings, peer and performance reviews.
  • Creating, facilitating and developing a network of local trainers across CEE.
  • Coordination with program partners, in-country individuals and organizations to assist in implementing training and education programs for country activity.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience managing programs and projects related to education or training with a proven delivery record.
  • BA or other advanced degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge and direct experience with e-learning and or learning management system platforms.
  • Significant professional experience working internationally.
  • Experience with business metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Experience selecting and working with external vendors.
